Five minute Dog Birthday Cake Recipe
If you’re running short on time, the quickest and easiest way to make a dog birthday cake is simply to open a can of his favourite food and slide the contents out in one piece. Then cover with bacon strips, and his favourite biscuit treats all around. Done in five minutes and your dog will love it!
If you want to make an even yummier dog birthday cake that looks more like a traditional cake, then use the recipe below.
Homemade Dog Birthday Cake
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 tsp vanilla 1/3 cup honey
- 1 egg
- 1 cup white or whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- Dog biscuits for decoration
- Optional: Banana, more peanut butter, frankfurter hot dogs for ‘candles’

Frost the cake with low fat cottage cheese or cream cheese and decorate with dog biscuit treats. Stick in some halved Frankfurter hot dogs as ‘candles’. Store in refrigerator.

I like the canine cookie recipe. Great idea. These would be good for doggie treats too.
Too cute! Thanks for the great hub and recipes. Bought some cupcakes from a doggie bakery a few years ago for her birthday -- obviously she loved them. Think she'd love these treats even more!
LOL, well, we no longer have a dog; she passed in 2004, but we do have 4 cats, and I'm sure this is adaptable for them! :-D ;-)
Cute idea! Voted up.
I would love to try out all your recipes. Yes, my dogs are my best friends. I have baked for them before, usually simple wheat cookies and carrot cake. It's a good idea to throw a party for them but I really worry about the clean up later.

A brilliant hub, especially with the cup cake craze that appears to be happening at the moment!
Awesome hub!

Years ago I made homemade dog bisquits but never made a birthday cake or cupcakes for them. Guess they never missed what they did not know. Haha! Yours must be very pampered pets! Congrats on the win!
Do dogs have birthday parties? Mine is sorely deprived!
LOL - I love the ideas, even though I've never been a person to celebrate our pets' birthdays (though my kids will be absolutely thrilled with the idea of making treats for their birthdays!) Excellent hub and rated up! Congrats on the win, Steph
Yea! I love this concept...Doggie's gonna have a great next birthday!
How cute - I need this recipe for when my Griffin turns 2 next month! Thanks so much for the recipe!! Congrats on the win, too.
Great hub My dogs are like my kids so I will definitely try these and congrats on your win!!!!!
Oh, what a cute idea! I love baking so much, but I've never had a chance to bake treats for a dog before. I'd really love to give these recipes a try. What fun!

This is a great site, I love it! My dog's birthday is in two days time and I'll certainly try one of the recipes. I assume the recipes which contain no doggie products can be consumed by humans too. I would just like to ask whether carob is safe for dogs and also can it be eaten by diabetic humans? thanks for making my day!
